If I complain to the doctor that the pain is quite above the normal, he might ask me what do I mean when I say "normal".

By that I mean the normal pain we feel everyday every time but we endure because it is the normal pain. The doctor might say that this is not normal. The normal pain is none.

This joke actually made me realize that is not normal to feel pain all the time.
