They are brand new ducklings… so they must have hatched in our yard ???
These ducklings aren't newborns anymore; they're at least three days old, maybe more, since they can already swim. A newborn duckling often drowns even in a water bowl :)

Yeah. They are probably 1 week old. Luckily they were able to find there way up the ramp and out of the pool. They are gone now … that’s good since the Chlorine is not good for ducklings …. And the water is still very cold …. Around 60 F
At such an early age, ducklings are heat-loving; in domestic households, at this age, they are still warmed with infrared lamps, but in nature, everything is a little different :)

The water in our pool is not heated. It is freezing cold. Around 60 F …. So I’m not sure why they were there .. but the River is around 50 F this year.
After eating, they need to wash their beaks, and they do this in any water :)
