Yes, that is quite true, though the bandwidth usage can be tweaked. It's even more challenging because I have to share the bandwidth with the whole communtity here (I live in an off-grid intentional community)!

How's your Qortal node? ๐ค I am thinking about testing it (since I !love testing after all). ๐
It's been running great! There is a UI to connect go the core, which is a whole decentralized internal ecosystem. They seek to replace the legacy internet. I've gotten to minter level 3, and I've been accumulating QORT fairly quickly. I highly recommend Qortal. That's 1 of 4 sovereignty-driven blockchains, including Hive, where I'm active. ๐๐๐โจ๐ค

Yep, I do promotion on my Hive posts on X, Noise.Cash, Bastyon, DeSo, and Tangled. It's quite helpful.
Each level takes progressively longer. Getting to level one takes about a week, level two takes about a month, level 3 takes a few months, on and on. I'm at level 3, and I have about 92 days to go to get to level 4. I don't remember exactly how long getting to level 5 takes. Probably several months, or even close to a year. You can refer or recommend Qortal to people at any time, as that has nothing to do with your level. If you want to be able to sponsor someone so that s/he can start minting/become a minter, yes, you do need to be level 5 to do so. Minting is not required to utilize the many aspects of the Blockchain, but is rather a motivation to keep your node online 24/7. ๐๐๐โจ๐ค

Anyway, I noticed that even without the ability to mint, every #Qortal node needs to be online as long as possible to increase its level quickly, such that a node that is online only for 12 hours a day will need double the days to reach the next level compared to a node that is always online. ๐ค

You need to be at least Level 5 first so that you can allow other people to host mint from their own Qortal nodes through invite codes sponsorship. ๐คฏ๐
That's not accurate. You don't need to be level 5 to run a node or to use any Qortal service. You only need to be level 5 to be able to sponsor another user to become a minter. There are no invite codes in Qortal, which is why when I share a link for Qortal, that I don't include such a code. The only things that is important to do to be able to use most Qortal servicesis to register a name.

Anyway, I have fully read the Qortal guide about minting, but I haven't found a way for a Qortal node operator to be able to mint without a sponsor. ๐คฏ๐

That works, and yes, now it's accurate! You can't. It's a protection mechanism to stop those trying to game the system. Getting sponsored, which is only necessary after the first week, is generally quite easy. Just spending some time in the General Chat, among others, getting to know people, will usually inspire someone to offer to sponsor you. You can also make a request in a group designed for that purpose. I've been on Qortal since September of last year, so I've gotten to know it pretty well. ๐ ๐ ๐ โจ ๐ค

Does that mean if a Qortal node becomes Level 5, it can sponsor somebody else to be able to mine, but won't be able to mine itself unless sponsored by somebody else? ๐ค๐คฏ๐
