🛶 Life on the Water: From the Garden to the Kitchen... A Hearty Menu on the Day the Water Recedes ☀️
Hello, my lovely friends.
This morning was another busy day, but filled with little joys. As soon as I woke up, the morning sun was a welcome sign after several days of heavy rain. Without delay, I immediately headed out on the boat to our garden.

Then it was time to catch the fish caught in the net. My husband and I paddled the boat and stirred the water surface by hand to see if any fish were caught. Unfortunately, the pond looked a bit quiet today. I guess all the big fish in the pond have gone out into the big wide world. That's why we only caught 2-3 fish today.

The first task was to feed the ducks and chickens that were eagerly awaiting their food. Feeding the ducks and chickens was a bit of a hassle because the ducks and chickens were all in different places. Some were on the shed in front of the garden, some were on the upper level of the garden house, and some were in cages downstairs in various places. I had to row a boat to try to feed all the chickens, ducks, and geese.

🐟 Sharing kindness, even if it's just a little.
On my way home, I parked my boat behind the temple and walked up the stairs. There, I met a neighbor driving by. We exchanged pleasantries. I took the meager 4-5 fish I had caught, along with the duck and chicken eggs I had collected, and gave them to my neighbors to share. It was a small joy to see the smiles of the community.
After distributing the food, I returned home empty-handed, but full of kindness.

🧹 Restoring the house after the flood recedes and delicious seasonal dishes When I got home, I had to quickly clean the house because the water in the back of the house had started to recede somewhat, but it still left traces of moisture and mud to deal with. I spent quite a while cleaning the house, while also arranging laundry that had been left for several days because there was no place to dry it due to the continuous rain. But today, luckily, the sun was very good, so I was able to do laundry and clean the dishes at the same time as I was cooking rice, because hunger was starting to set in.

In a flood situation like this, morning glory is a remarkably adaptable plant. When floodwaters inundate it, it floats and sprouts new shoots.
🌿 Wisdom from the Water: A Community Generates Sustainable Income Through "Morning Glory Arrangement"
[Village/Community Name] has become an admirable example of clever reliance on nature. Villagers have come together to create a stable career and income from "arranging morning glory" that thrives in their natural spaces. This is not just about growing vegetables, but about using their wisdom and understanding of the life cycle of aquatic plants, creating new opportunities for everyone in the community. 🌱 Morning Glory: An Uncommon Aquatic Plant
Morning glory (including Chinese morning glory and glass morning glory, which are commonly grown in rice paddies and harvested for their shoots), which thrives in the village's fertile environment, has been elevated from a local crop into a cash crop, generating daily income. This is due to its fast-growing, easy-to-harvest properties, and its continued market demand.
A neighbor in the village brought some for sale, calling it "Water Shield Morning Glory," so I quickly bought seven bunches at 10 baht each, totaling 70 baht, to prepare our favorite dish during the flood season.

🎁 Yesterday, I received two relief packages, with canned fish as the main ingredient. Today's menu is definitely Stir-fried Morning Glory with Canned Fish, a well-known dish during the floods.
🌶️ A heartfelt meal I quickly prepared this dish amidst the chaos of cleaning the house. The main course is stir-fried morning glory with canned fish. My recipe adds a little chili to enhance the spiciness.
Once the food was ready, I quickly set it on the table for my husband and daughter to enjoy. I then joined in later.
Soon, the village leader and volunteers arrived with a distributed lunch. Today's lunch at home was especially plentiful, with both homemade and generously donated food. (Thank you very much!)

We had a meal with many people, both family members and volunteers. Everyone was talking about the flood situation. The atmosphere was filled with hope, and the water level was slowly receding, giving everyone encouragement and a vision for a better future.
This simple meal, paired with hot steamed rice, was incredibly delicious. More importantly, it was filled with the warmth of sharing and the hope that things would return to normal soon.

As for today, I must take my leave. You are my friend. See you again next time. Thank you for following and supporting me. Thank you very much.
