Hello, my lovely friends.
This post continues the joy from yesterday's story where my talented daughter surprised me with a new motorcycle. After completing the motorcycle delivery mission, the joy didn't end there. My middle daughter and son-in-law invited my mother to lunch at a department store in Trang Province, which served as our meeting point. We each went our separate ways. I excitedly took the opportunity to ride my 'new friend on two wheels' to the meeting point, while my daughter drove her own car.
A warm atmosphere at the food court.
Upon arriving at the mall, I met my middle daughter, who was exchanging her food cards in the mall's food court. My daughter and son-in-law seemed ready to eat, but I was a little hesitant. Actually, I had just had a hearty meal at home. So, I circled the food court several times because I wasn't really hungry.
My daughter, noticing my mother's refusal to order, probably worried that I wouldn't like the food court, suggested we go to the larger restaurant outside instead.
I quickly cleared up my daughter's misunderstanding, saying that it wasn't because she didn't like the food court, but that she had actually eaten at home.
In order not to offend my daughter and son-in-law who had so kindly invited my mother to this special lunch, I decided to 'just have a little bit' to join in this happy time.
Spicy Isan-style dishes
I walked into an Isan restaurant and immediately ordered my favorites: the incredibly spicy Som Tam Poo Pla Ra (spicy papaya salad with fermented fish and pork salad) and the fragrant Larb Moo (minced pork salad). I also ordered sticky rice and Khanom Jeen (rice noodles) to go with it. The prices were affordable, typical of a food court. The Som Tam Poo Pla Ra (spicy papaya salad with fermented fish and pork salad) was 60 baht, and the sticky rice was 10 baht, just as the menu indicated.
After ordering and paying by scanning the exchanged card, the food was ready. The food booth called for us to pick it up and then brought all the food to the table Wow The table was full of different dishes for everyone.
After the food was prepared, I went to get some cool drinks to quench everyone's thirst. Then, we gathered around the dining table and began to enjoy the meal together.
A warm, comforting feeling.
The son-in-law's menu is hot and delicious noodles. The middle and eldest daughters (who joined later) both chose the popular menu of basil rice with fried egg. This picture shows the cutely different preferences of the family members.
This was the happiest moment for me. We talked and laughed happily, and the atmosphere was wonderful. Even though the food court was crowded and noisy, our small dining table was filled with the love and warmth of family.
I couldn't resist capturing these memorable moments. Both the delicious food and, most importantly, the family photo, filled with happy smiles. The image of my daughter and son-in-law sitting at the same table was a wonderful memory for my mother. It truly was a heartwarming gift.
Being able to enjoy a meal together like this was the most precious gift after the surprise new motorcycle. It confirmed that family happiness doesn't depend on the luxury of the venue, but on the good feelings and love we share.
