I've been working with the mindset of being financially stable and i didn't care if i have good friends or a good partner. That reminds me, its been almost 4 months i last talked to my mom. I think I know what to do now.
People focus top much on money...it doesn't bring happiness though. Sure, it can help, but if a person isn't happy, more money won't buy it.
Each of us have to decide our own path...many take the wrong ones.
I agree with what you said 100 percent.
A lot of people over here make such mistakes, and its one of the leading cause of broken homes. If a person is not happy before achieving wealth, i don't think the wealth can bring happiness or love, instead, it will bring people that love them for what they have, instead of who they are.

There's a lot of bad decisions being made all over the place but unfortunately in your country it seems to be the norm; bad decisions by people trying to take short cuts by scamming others. It happens all over of course, but your country is well known for it.
In my country, people make a lot of bad decisions. Scamming is one of them. Some abandon their wife/husband and kids. The rate of corruption is increasing by the day. Corruption is not only found within the people, but also within government officials. They call us Giant of Africa, but i don't see any Giant in us.
There are lots of bad people in my country. There are also very good and lovely people here too. I think the reputation of those bad ones is overshadowing the good people we have over here. Scamming is the norm here. Even people from this country are not spared by scammers. Scammers use both physical manipulation and spiritual means to scam their victims. I have fallen victim to both their manipulation and their spiritual means of getting victims (client as the call it).
Each time i find out that someone close to me is going into that lane, I cut off from them immediately without remorse. I have cut off a lot of people. My childhood friend joined them and he began to sweet-talk me to join them. I didn't because i can't. My conscience will never let me do something like that. Yes, life's hard, but then, I prefer to carry an empty plate to the street and beg for money than to scam people. I don't think i'll ever be broke to the extent of begging for money though.
To me, there is no pride in taking shortcuts. He who takes such cheap and worthless shortcuts are worst than scum.
Its better to face the hardship of life and get a taste of how difficult life can be. I think if a person pass through difficulty to build themselves, they will understand the value in money and good relationships, so, they will not misuse their days.
The most annoying thing about these scammers is that after they get the money, they will spend it on hotels, clothes, alcohol, drugs, womanizing and other harmful practices.
I'm proud to be a Nigerian, but then, the actions of some people in my country makes it hard to keep being proud of my country.
