Oh damn now I want Filet Mignon!
I enjoy steak enough but not like those obsessed with marbling and all the finer points. I like a nice lean cut of meat and it doesn't have to be 30 ounces so filet is my cut of choice. That being said, I have never cooked it wrapped in bacon! I think you may have inspired me to give that a try in the new year.
In the meantime, that sounds like a lovely end to a year with a fancy homecooked meal with the family.
