Hive Distrion App - Production Bug fixes
Testing WebHooks for SuperAdmins
- Super admins can add, remove, ban, unban admins.
- Admins can add trusted guides, add businesses, add business owners
- But such whenever such changes are made, it should immediately notify with who did what.
- Discord WebHooks comes to rescue for achieving such results.
- We were able to add & remove admins.
- Webhooks were working just fine for it.
- We did test all other webhooks but not these.
- I did test it on my own with my account but it was not tested by others.
- Today, we did real/production testing by a different super admin.
- All went well. Sigh!
Production Issue - Infinite Loading indicator
- Server kept crashing when hitting the API
- The root cause was too tight rules.
- I injected a test business
i-am-the-flash - It didn't have valid attributes.
- This resulted into executing things on undefined
- Even after adding one attribute
linkit failed. - After that, I realised I am required to add more fields -
payment_methods - All of these happened when @starkerz was giving a demo to someone.
- I was bit anxious while fixing this on production quickly
- I was able to fix it under 30 mins & demo went well on third attempt.
- 2nd attempt failed as indicated below but you can see, it wasn't issue from Hive-Distrion. It was an issue from Hive RPC
Addressing Icons feedback
- While adding those features, I didn't pay much attention to the icons.
- @starkerz pointed it out.
- I immediately updated those Icons, merged those changes & deployed
- I also updated term "Guide" to "Trusted Guide" along with changing the icons.

ThreeSpeak - Video Issue
- @eddiespino reported that user @mirror15's video @mirror15/cjrfxrnnet is unplayable.
- I started digging into the issue
- After analysis, I found that the
video_v2was missing in the database-document. - I realised that such issues has happened in the past.
- I also realised that, I wrote a script to fix the issue.
- it is available here - https://github.com/spknetwork/3speak-legacy-frontend/pull/36
- So, I checked out that branch & executed script.
- I think, I am going to merge the script to
main& set it on the cron job.

Updates: Video Encoder Nodes
- I'm running 12 powerful video encoder nodes for 3Speak Community Members.
- Monthly internet bandwidth usage which exceeds 15 TB, Maintenance cost, Electricity backup, Internet backup, Depreciation cost - it's all on me.
- On 2024-06-05, 3Speak published total 126 videos.
- My video encoder nodes encoded 116 videos from 126 videos published.
- It means, my encoder nodes encoded 92.06 % of total videos published on 2024-06-05
