RE: Command and Conquer studio closes for good

in Hive Gaming23 days ago

Wow, I'm so nostalgic reading your post about the closure of the Command & Conquer studio! I've spent hours playing this game, and in fact, I still have the CDs!

I'm currently playing Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition, and some things about the game are familiar to me, while others aren't so familiar. I'm working on a gameplay preview, and when it's ready, I'll upload it to my channel so you can check it out and give me your feedback.

By the way, do you think EA could revive the Command & Conquer series in the future, perhaps with a new installment or a remaster? What do you think?

Sort:

AOE is a legendary title but I only ever played 2, which I loved. I'd enjoy seeing your preview when it is ready.

I think EA always COULD make a revive of almost any of the massive catalog of games that they have but I don't think they will. They have a system that makes them a lot of money and that is what they are going to run with. They can make hundreds of millions of dollars by re-releasing what it essentially the exact same sport games every year with updated rosters when honestly, this should be DLC. They do it because they can and people still pay for it.

I get that it is the primary of every studio first and foremost to make money, but EA has gone a bit wild with it including getting into a lot of deserved trouble for introducing loot box gambling into games that are marketed towards childrean. I knwo that when I see EA on a game, I am always pretty apprehensive to have anything to do with it.
