Hello everyone, I want to share something simple story that happened today. After my check-up at the clinic, I told to my husband I wanted to eat maggi goreng, so my husband and I decided to go for lunch after my check-up. It had been a long time since I craved a maggi goreng. I had been thinking about it for many days, maybe even weeks, but I just never had the chance to eat it. So today felt like the perfect day, it's because just across the road from the clinic is the mamak restaurant. We walked across the road to Ayza’s Restaurant: we don’t drive because it’s easier to go without a car. This restaurant is also famous it’s because they have a few branches around in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. Mamak shops in Malaysia sell Indian-Muslim food. And "Mamak" means Indian Muslim. these shop is halal, so the food is made in a way that follows Islamic rules. And all Malaysians like to lepak at this kind of restaurant, especially at night to eat food; they are open almost 24 hours. Mamak shops are very popular in Malaysia because they have been open for a long time and have many kinds of halal Indian food. When we reached Ayza’s, we found a place to sat.

The afternoon weather was so hot today, but I didn’t mind. I'm just so excited to eat my Maggi goreng. My husband ordered mixed rice. This means he chose white rice and added some dishes on top. He picked some curry and a piece of chicken. It looked tasty, and he seemed to enjoy it. I ordered what I had been craving of maggi goreng ayam with telor mata. I will explain what that is. Maggi goreng dish made from instant noodles, stir-fried with vegetables, sauces, and sometimes meat. “Ayam” means chicken, and the “Telor mata” is a Malaysian word, meaning is a fried egg with the yolk still soft. So I have to say the whole thing of maggi goreng ayam telor mata, or else if I just order maggi goreng the normal one, they call it behasa, just stir-fried maggi with veggies. This dish is not very healthy because it is oily and made with instant noodles, but sometimes, it's okay to enjoy comfort food to spoil the diet. This kind of food reminds me of when I was new here in Malaysia, I could eat this every day before, but now I’m aging stage must look after my diet.
Anyway, it’s something many Malaysians love to eat when they want something fast, tasty, and cheap. Even though it’s not something I should eat often, today felt special. I felt like I deserved a small treat after my check-up. Sometimes, when I follow a strict diet, I miss these simple and flavorful dishes. So today was my little “cheat day.” As I took my first bite, I felt so contented with my craving. The noodles were just the way I liked them, and I ordered “kurang pedas,” meaning is less spicy, a bit salty, and full of flavor. The chicken was juicy and hot. The egg on top made it even better. I broke the yolk and mixed it into the noodles. It was just perfect. I also ordered a cup of coffee. Usually, I drink my coffee in the morning, but today we were rushing in the morning for my check-up. So this cup of hot, sweet coffee made me feel warm and calm. It was a nice way to enjoy the meal. After lunch, my husband and I sat for a while and talked. We both felt full and happy. Sometimes, small things like sharing a meal with someone you love can make your day feel really special. So that’s my little story. A simple lunch, a happy heart, and a craving finally satisfied. Thank you for reading.

yup malaysians definitely love mamak lol. I'm more of an indomee fan though but you can try kampung fried rice, nasi lemak kambing, tandori ayam as well if you go to mamaks
