Time flies. Just in a blink of an eye, 10 days had passed and soon my parents would be flying back to East Malaysia. The night before they flew back, we had dinner one more time. This time we ate at Xing Yee Fatt Chinese restaurant, a famous one in our area.
Dinner at Xing Yee Fatt
Location: 3, Jalan Rampai Niaga 2, Medan Niaga Rampai, 53300 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur
The restaurant did not allow people to reserve seats considering a fair system of 'first come first serve'. Knowing the restaurant would usually be packed by 7pm, I decided to reach there earlier at 6:15pm to book seats. My family of four and my parents reached and it was already full in the restaurant. Therefore, we were given a table outside the restaurant, just beside the road. Better than nothing.
Food we ordered
We ordered two types of stir vegetables, one was stir fry mixed vegetables, another one was stir fry lettuce with oyster sauce. Super fresh and delicious.
For protein, we ordered a soy sauce steamed fish, a sweet and sour pork, salted fish pork belly and fried squid with salted egg coating. To our dismay, eventhough we ordered large portions for all the dishes, each plate came exceptionally smaller in portion unlike their usual volume. Oh well, maybe due to the crowd and they reduced the size? Anyway, we still enjoyed our company for the night. Everyone was starting to miss my parents, knowing they would fly back the next day.
Everyone who was not staying with me and my family took turns to say byes to my parents — hugs and kisses.
Next day: Dimsum breakfast
I wanted to eat one more time with my parents before they went to airport.
So I brought them to nearby Dimsum Chinese Restaurant called Restoran Titi Jia Xiang. This restaurant is here like forever, since my college time until now. Most of the workers are also the all-time faithful uncles and aunties.
Address: 51, 53, Jalan 45/26, Taman Sri Rampai, 53300 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur
I let my parents chose the dimsum they wanted. My dad was also attracted to the 'wantan' noodle shop that he ordered one wantan noodle to be shared.
These were the dimsum they ordered. All were super delicious. They steamed the dimsum on the spot upon your order.
One very special signature delicacy here which was recommended by the lady boss was Chee Cheong Fan wrapped with crispy fu chuk wrapped with prawns. Meaning, inner layer was fresh prawns wrapped with deep fried fu chuk, and then the whole thing would be rolled with rice roll Chee Cheung Fan. This was exceptionally yummy.
Coffee and tea drinks were nice too and well-balanced. My mum actually told me she fell in love with this place. All the workers and bosses were so friendly. We loved it.
A snap of my parents as memories.
A short trip to Sunway Velocity
After bidding good-bye to my parents at home and sending them down to lobby (they preferred to go airport using Grabcar, a cab in town). I hugged them so tight because I was feeling very emotional. 11 days weren't enough for me. I missed them so much.
Husband decided to have a short family-of-four bonding time and brought me to my favourite mall at Sunway Velocity Mall for late lunch. I treasured the family time so I did not take any photos during lunch time. But there were some photos of Chinese New Year decoration.
