We all know produce is getting expensive these days, moreover produce that could be imported in and causing you a bomb to order.
But how about bringing in your own catches (like fish) or produce you have from your home, or community garden, because you just aren't a great cook, so that someone can make use of your produce to whip up a great communal meal for all to enjoy?
Not all restaurants allow this, but this restaurant had an exception, they will cook for you for a service fee, and you can bring along your own produce (or even beverages) and "rent their space" for a great gathering and fellowship.
haha, we even brought wine for a cheers (as a pose) just to celebrate a hard worked year 2024 has completed, and looking forward for 2025 of greater heights.
(with @fusion.lover previously and @dbfbfutures team who came back to the capital city for gathering)
Braise bead curd with crabmeat
"Soon Hock" steamed fish
Malay (sambal) stir fry vegetables
orkra, long beans, petai (smelly bean), brinjal
Taiwan style "three cup chicken"
Came in a nice display even
Baked Spare Rib with Plum Sauce
And these are the home brought items...
Abalone with Broccoli with oyster sauce
Home fetched prawns in butter sauce
The overall price wasn't super cheap even if you brought your own produce, but if per dish cost lest than $10 USD service fee for a table of 11 people (in total) it is still worth it if you get to choose what you want to eat.
This is how most Asian countries dine together, we share food and share the love.
If you have noticed, each dish actually have their own cutlery, so hygiene wise it is okay because we never use our own fork / spoon / chopsticks to grab the food from the dish
Finally I got all the photos and the time to upload for @shawnnft 's February Eat Out challenge, that is going to end at the end of this month!
(Actually there's another gathering dish, but I will post this because the dishes are really nice and the food is very good)
Until Then
