In Indonesia, we can plant tomato and cucumber all years because here just have rain and dry day. Even rainy, we still have sunlight in the rest of the day.
For cucumber, better to plant them in the rain season above June-December. But We can also plant them all years 😊
For dry season, we just need to extra watering those plants. But for big commercial part like big field, people don’t want take risk. so the farmers will use the land to plant corn for dry season

In Greece those are summer vegetables, so watering is necessary.
