Chicken Cordon Balls..

Hello everyone!!
Wishing you all a wonderful and joyful day or night!!!

I'm back with my food blogging again.
Today, let's have some "Chicken Cordon Balls".

This should have been chicken cordon bleu, but there wasn't any available chicken fillet at the supermarket at that time. So instead of cooking chicken cordon bleu, I switched it to chicken cordon balls.

I made this last Christmas. I only prepared three dishes that time because there would be some food coming before midnight from my younger sister, who lives in the next municipality.

So, let's take a look at how I made this “Chicken Cordon Balls."

Chicken Cordon Balls..

INGREDIENTS:

  • Ground Chicken
  • Ham
  • Cheese
  • Cornstarch
  • Bread Crumbs
  • Salt
  • MSG
  • Paprika
  • Ground Pepper
  • Garlic Powder
  • Magic Sarap Seasoning
  • Canola Oil

PREPARATION:

Wash the ground chicken thoroughly, then strain. Put it in a bigger bowl and set aside.
Cut the ham into tiny cubes.
Cut the cheese into cubes of your desired size.

Let's now mix all the seasonings.
Add ground pepper, paprika and garlic powder to the chicken and mix them well.

)
)

Add a pinch of salt and just a little amount of MSG to taste.

)
)

Then add the cut or sliced ham. Mix them until well combined.

)
)

Then add cornstarch and mix it well again.

I also added a little of Magic Sarap seasoning to enhance the flavor.

)
)

Finally, add some bread crumbs and again mix them well and set aside.

Prepare a saucer, brush a little canola oil into it, and place a scoop of chicken mixture. Flatten it, then add a piece of cheese in the middle and form it into a ball. Repeat the process until they're all finished.

)
)

Arrange the chicken balls on a tray lined with baking paper and then place them in the chiller for a few minutes to firm them up.

After a few minutes, let's start cooking.

COOKING TIME:

)

Heat some canola oil in a pan. You can add butter if you want. Then fry the chicken balls at a low heat until they're fully cooked. Repeat the process until they are all finished.

And there it is...

Credit to my daughter @tegoshei, who helped me in preparing this dish. She was the one who cut the ham and cheese, and she's also the one who molded the mixture into balls. She even took some of the pictures while I was cooking.

We had a very simple celebration, but it was so meaningful and memorable. It's our first Christmas in the countryside.

I also prepared and cooked spaghetti and no-crust buko pie, and was able to share some with our new neighbors, relatives and friends.

Later that night, after we had our dinner, we received more food from my younger sister.
I love how simple, yet memorable, the Christmas dinner that we had was.

I know for sure everyone here spent their Christmas dinner with family, full of joy and precious memories.

That would be all for now, and see you around.
Thanks a bunch for stopping by, and God bless!! 🥰🙏❣
