I learned long ago that chayote has many health benefits. It is rich in nutrients, fiber, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and many other nutrients and health benefits.
So, let's cook some chayote now. 🙂
Simple and Easy Sayote or Chayote Stir Fry with Chicken Fillet
INGREDIENTS:
- Chayote
- Potato
- Chicken Fillet
- Onion
- Garlic
- Bell Pepper
- Soy Sauce
- Canola Oil
- Salt
- Garlic Powder
- Ground Black Pepper
- Magic Sarap Seasoning
- Brown Sugar
- Lemon
- Water
PREPARATION:
Wash the chicken fillet thoroughly. Then slice it into smaller pieces and marinate with soy sauce, garlic powder, ground black pepper, and a squeeze of lemon. Set aside.
Wash and peel the chayote. Cut or slice them thinly.
Wash and peel the potato, cut or slice thinly, and soak with water to avoid discoloration.
Crush and peel garlic, then cut it into small pieces.
Peel and wash the onion, then cut it into small pieces.
Wash and cut bell pepper with your desired size and shape.
Then, set them all aside.
COOKING TIME:
Heat some canola oil in a pan or cooker.
Sautee onion and then the garlic until fragrant.
Then, add the marinated chicken fillet. Sautee them all together for a few minutes or until the chicken is slightly cooked.
Then, add the chayote. Sauté for just about two minutes. Add the potato and sauté for another two minutes. Add the bell pepper and mix them.
Then add water and let it simmer. Season it with a pinch of salt and Magic Sarap seasoning to taste when it starts to simmer. Add a little soy sauce and just a little brown sugar to balance the flavor. Add also some ground black pepper to enhance the flavor.
Cover the pan and continue cooking until the sauce is reduced.
And all done... this is just how simple and easy it is to prepare and cook this nutritious and delicious dish.
