Have you ever tried Nasi liwet? Nasi liwet is white rice cooked with spices, so even if you eat it without side dishes, it still tastes delicious. Nasi liwet is a dish originating from West Java or better known as the Sundanese tribe. This liwet rice is usually cooked using coconut milk and chicken stock, as well as spices. However, many people cook it randomly, only adding flavoring when cooking. Of course the taste is different between the original and the randomly cooked one.
Some time ago, my friend and I met at a cafe in our area. It was our first time coming to that cafe. Because the first time, we had no idea at all about the menu we would order. However, when I opened the menu book, it turned out that the menu was mostly Indonesian food. When I read that there was nasi liwet, I immediately ordered it without thinking twice. What I ordered was liwet rice with green chili squid as a side dish. Come to think of it, it's been a long time since I've eaten green chili squid.
About green chili squid, have you tried it before? If you haven't, then you must try it. I'm not going to lie, but this is one of the most delicious dishes in the world. I don't know exactly which city this dish comes from, it looks like it's from the island of Sulawesi. I don't know, but whoever first discovered the green chili squid recipe, I think he was brilliant. Do I sound exaggerating? I don't care, what is certain is that I really like this dish.
Honestly, actually when I ordered this menu, I didn't have high expectations for the taste. Because I've eaten at well-known restaurants that sell Indonesian food but the taste doesn't match the price. However, for the menu at this cafe, I think the prices are standard and the taste is also delicious. Honestly, the food at this restaurant is very delicious. The liwet rice is delicious and the green chili squid also tastes right. Apart from the food I ordered, I also tasted the menu my friend ordered and it also tasted delicious. So I think the price is also worth it.
