I used to have some debates with my late fathers about dining out. He loved dining out and he still wanted to eat outside on the last day of his life. One of the debate was about how bad the places were... It was not because we picked bad place, but more on the place we believed they were good, turned out to be bad.
The same debate right now continues with my mom. When I took her out, she used to pick bad places. We debated for hours, and she would cry and angry if I did not back down. So every time I backed down, the end was simple. We were disappointed with the food.
So that's my topic today, what is good, won't last forever...
This was a Mie Yamin bakso which means a wet noodle with some meatballs. Basically this is a noodle dish which the noodle is wheat noodles and the toping are dominated with soy sauce and chicken-shallot oil. It is not an authentic Indonesia dish because it is originated from Chinese cuisine.

In that post, on 10 December 2024, it was the last time I visited this place. It was packed full of customer that day, the taste was good. And Last week when I visited that place again, everything had changed
The place was a bit run down. I could say the place was as clean as before. It was during ramadhan month and most people were fasting. So that gave me a big question, what were those guy doing not tidying up the place?
However after I started eating my noodle, everything got clear to me. The taste was not there anymore. They did not provide any free condiments as they used to do before. I had to walk to the cart to ask some peppers and sauce.
And seriously the meatballs were lame. They used to give a decent meatball, but this time they provided two smaller meatballs with lame taste and texture.
How about the noodle taste? I hate to say this, but they get worse too. The diced chicken was not decent at all. As I have said I hate to say this, the taste is bad. The only thing that is getting better is their price, it become 50% higher than two years ago.
I want to invite you all to read my post in that Taco-Tuesdays one. That time the taste was still good so I was excited to tell a story about it. But this is one of the perfect example I want to share here. What is good, it is not everlasting. It is sad to see once a good place, deteriorate to a bad condition.
I do not want to judge why they become like that. Every place which have fallen, have their own story. Whether it is a greed, a bad luck, or just some plain stupidity. Whatever the reason is, I hope they could find their way back to the condition where they were once thriving.
