Hello Asean Hive Community
As usual, today I come here again with a foodie post. I love sharing my meal with you guys, so here I go again with a lunch. This one is a budget which somehow I stumbled on this outlet when I was travelling last year.

If you read their advertisement on the right side, it is written "SERBA 13000". It meant whatever menu you ordered there, they would charge you for 13.000 Rupiah, or around 0.7 USD that time. Today the price might have gone up regarding it was around six to seven months ago.
An order for them was like you get a set menu of a white rice, vegetables and one menu. Whatever the menu was, they kept charge you at 13.000 Rupiah. It was common for some place to sell food like that.

They did not even bother to give name for their outlet. What mattered most was everyone knew that they could eat anything there for 13.000 Rupiah. Their name or their brand was not important at all, just the price and the menu you could order, displayed at their main window.

However I found that the way they marketed their stall was unique, not from the pricing issue. They used the sidewalk, where pedestrians used it to walk, as their grilling place.
When I visited there, They were grilling some chicken on the side walk, next to the road, right where people parked their motorcycle.

Even the guy who grilled those chicken several times left the place to serve food for the customers. The place was quite full, because many office workers came there for their cheap food.
This marketing way was actually not right at all. They used public facility for their business. Those chicken might get plenty of dust, and there might be some suicidal bug YOLO-ing themselves to get some free chicken lol. I wondered why there wasn't any crazy stray cats nor dogs that attack the grill lol.

Because I saw they grilled chicken outside, I chose to eat non chicken menu. So this was my order, a deep fried Mackerel with some green pepper paste. This meal costed me 0.7 USD, so I should not complain at all right?
The green chili pepper was not spicy enough, and they broth they gave on the rice was too runny. However the overall taste was not that bad, I would say it was on average. So 0.7 USD for a decent lunch, it was a great pick! I could give ten to twenties alternative that could cost me more and gave me less tasty meals compared to this one.
Sadly I haven't got any opportunity to visit the place, maybe that would be the last time I visited their place. The location is not near, and I rarely travel to that area... Maybe once a year? and there are other outlets that I want to try near that area.
Ok that's my food story today. See you next time and take care yourself!
