RE: Comparing Thailand to Vietnam - while the wound is still fresh pt. 2

it has the potential to be VERY oily, especially with street food where they are cooking it extremely fast. This is something you can avoid though if you go to a place and they have the already cooked meat hanging up in a window display case. Normally this is them proving that they food was slow cooked and in that case the oil is minimal.

I agree about all diets such as the water fast although I think the bypass surgery is much more effective than unsustainable crash diets that are just crazy like not eating at all. When I saw big fat jim he was clearly distraught about his regaining of the weight but I just honestly offered him sincere advice and a harsh reality that the only way he is going to ever change is if he radically alters his diet and gets some exercise in there as well. He shook his head and said "I know I know" but if you know then do something man! I am one of the few people that wont take his BS excuses though and told it to him straight and looked him in the eye and said "if you don't dude, you are going to die" He really is that fat, just alarmingly fat. His excuses are the usual ones like he works so much and in his case he actually does - he is the owner of a wildly successful tobacco company and employs hundreds of people.... I said, to spend some of this money he is making on a really good phone and some good headphones... learn how to use them and figure out a way to get some of your job done in a park, while walking an hour a day.... and stop drinking sodas as there was a fucking coca cola in his hand while we were talking.

some people just can't read the writing on the wall and since I care about him I gave him a lot of tough love. You have to change man... you have to find an hour a day to exercise... even if it is just walking, or you are going to find 24 hours a day to be not alive.

Yeah, that is sad. It's good that he has someone that cares about him like you do, even if he doesn't always listen to you. I think it can definitely work well, but you have to make a commitment to it and you have to work on the mental side of things too.
