You got a very informative post about fish and I love it. W e also have carp here in the Philippines. It comes out mostly during rainy season here in our locality. Around December to March annually, there is a big flood here so the fish come out and people catch them by net. Some have it for personal consumption and some sell it.
You are right, in our Bangladesh too, especially during the rainy season or when there is a little water flow, all these fish can be found in the rivers and canals. The people of this country are generally known as Bengalis for their fish. This non-vegetarian food plays the most important role in the family.
