From Seed to Fruit: A Watermelon Update from Our Mini Farm

in ASEAN HIVE COMMUNITY3 hours ago

Happy Thursday Hivers!

Nature is truly amazing. Just imagine, a tiny seed is placed in the soil and watered, then suddenly it sprouts and grows into a plant. That plant eventually bears fruit, which becomes food for us. It is wonderful to see how God provides for our needs through nature and the incredible process of growth He created.

Anyways, our mini farm has given us so many first-time experiences. There has been a lot of trial and error along the way, and one of those was growing watermelons from seeds for the very first time. I planted the seeds in the soil, watched them sprout, and eventually saw them bear fruit.

I still remember how excited and happy I was the first time I saw the watermelon seedlings emerge from the ground. But I realized that seeing the actual fruits growing on the vines brings an even greater sense of joy and fulfillment. It makes all the effort, patience, and waiting feel truly worthwhile.

The watermelon plant in the first photo was about that size back on May 9. Now, it has produced many fruits. Although some of them are still quite small, the plant is already bearing a good number of watermelons. Seeing its progress from a young vine to a fruit-bearing plant has been truly rewarding.

The watermelon in the last photo has grown quite large already. Honestly, it surprised me. About a week ago, we were not able to check the garden regularly because my mother was sick. Then, three days ago, I went to check on the watermelon plants. When I saw how big one of the fruits had become, I was speechless. All I could do was smile because I was so happy.

I immediately called my mother over, and she was just as surprised as I was. There is truly a different kind of joy that comes from seeing the plants you nurtured finally bear fruit. All the waiting, effort, and care suddenly feel worthwhile.

So that's my latest update on our watermelon plants. As long as we do our part by planting, caring for, and nurturing them, nature will take care of the rest. Watching these watermelons grow has reminded me that patience and consistency are often rewarded in the most satisfying way.

How much time does the whole process take, from Seed to Fruit? I tried to count, but couldn't 😀
