It was a sunny morning when I realized we had nothing for lunch.
The fridge was empty, and so was the pantry.
As I stepped outside, I heard the fish vendor.
He was using a megaphone, calling everyone to buy fresh fish.
Here in the Philippines, fish vendors usually sell their fresh catch to customers riding their motorcycles, or other various modes of transportation.
They loaded it with ice-packed fish, to reach different neighborhoods.
And since we had no other options, I decided to buy some.
The vendor said the price was 180 pesos per kilo, which seemed a bit pricey to me, but I was hungry enough to bargain.
So I bought half a kilo of tilapia fish and asked him to clean it thoroughly.
After that, I headed back home, ready to prepare a simple yet delicious lunch.
What's your go-to dish for fresh tilapia?
If you ask me, I would decide it would be perfect to grill it for lunch.
Fortunately, we have a coil stove at home. 😜
So I carefully prepared the tilapia, cleaning it one last time before seasoning it with salt and a few herbs.
Once everything was ready, I placed it on the grill coil.
The aroma of the grilled tilapia makes me hungrier.
I didn't have much time to capture every moment of the process, so what I have here is the delicious result. 😋
Did it look perfect? 🥰
As I was eager to taste it, I sat down, ate, and got satisfied.
My cravings for that smoky taste truly hit the spot.
Good thing the fish vendor saved our lunch.
Until our next tasty and fulfilling meal...
Thanks for the visit! Have a lovely day. Buh-bye. 💗🌸
