Following the completion of my morning tasks, I sit down for breakfast. My meal consists of deliciously fried white mee hun, two heart-shaped nuggets, a selection of fresh vegetables, and a comforting mug of hot water. As I begin my meal, the clock reads 6:21 am. The portion is satisfyingly adequate, striking a perfect balance in quantity and contentment.
As you can see, there's a gentle mist enveloping us this morning. The morning mist creates a serene veil, obscuring our view and bringing with it a slightly chilly, yet calming atmosphere. By 6:38 am, we are all set and ready to head off to school, embraced by this tranquil ambiance.
As I journey farther, the sky starts to clear, revealing its beauty. Traveling at a steady pace of 60 km/h, I manage to capture this picture. Imagine how breathtaking the view would be if taken directly, without the obstruction of the windshield. The atmosphere presents a mesmerizing blend of a soft orange hue, lingering mist, and patches of clear blue sky.
I arrived at my child's school at 7:08 am. Eiona, full of enthusiasm for school, walked ahead, leaving her mother behind. Her spirit for learning is truly infectious. I noticed one leg of her trousers was pulled up, something I couldn't adjust in time. I hope her mother will be able to fix it later.
Today's lunch, lovingly prepared by my wife, includes a bowl of rich, brown chicken curry, perfectly cooked white rice, a chicken egg, and a fresh banana, picked straight from our garden.
Time has swiftly passed by. The workday is done, and school is out for today. We are now just 500 meters away from our town, ready to pick up a few items we ordered online. Afterwards, we're planning to indulge in some delicious roti canai, a special request from the kids.
Rex and Rez adore roti canai, especially when mixed with savoury curry. Their enjoyment of this dish is undeniable.
Observe how Eiona enjoys her curry. I offered her some milk, but she declined, preferring to enjoy the curry instead. Her pleasure is palpable and delightful to witness.
Before returning home, we made a detour to the night market, aptly named for its early evening bustle. Already abuzz by 4:30, it beckoned us with its vibrant energy. Amidst the lively stalls, the kids clamored for additional treats.
When we returned home at 5:21 p.m., Kokot, our playful dog, greeted us just outside the gate. His presence caught my interest; how did he manage to escape this time? It appeared that another section of the fence had succumbed to his naughty actions. Despite my efforts to repair it, the rusted barrier could not withstand Kokot's persistent gnawing. Watching him joyfully greet Rez, it was difficult not to be charmed by his joyful spirit, a heartwarming welcome back to our home.
As the day winds down, I find myself reflecting on the beautiful simplicity and joy woven into the fabric of our daily lives. From the misty morning that wrapped our start in a veil of serenity to the vibrant hues of the sky that accompanied our journey, each moment held its unique charm. The sight of Eiona's unbridled enthusiasm for learning, the heartwarming flavors of our home-cooked meals, and the children's laughter echoing over plates of roti canai – these are the treasures that make our days so special.
The night market adventure added a splash of excitement with its bustling energy and the children's eager requests for treats. And, of course, our return home was made all the more memorable by Kokot's mischievous welcome, reminding us of the playful love that waits at our doorstep.
