Trying Random Food at Bandung

Hello everyone, how are you? I hope you are well. Today, I am in Bandung. Enjoying a food from my childhood again. This food has become a typical food from Bandung. The name of this food is cireng.

Cireng is a food from West Java made from tapioca flour, then fried. There are forms of cireng in West Java, especially in Bandung. There are small ones and of course the difference is the seasoning.

I bought cireng in the shape of a coin then doused with savory and slightly spicy peanut sauce. I bought it randomly at a food cart on the side of the road. Oh yeah, a long time ago, when in 2015 this food was famous at the station of one of the football clubs from Bandung. The name of the club is Persib.

The first time, this cireng innovation was sold at the Persib stadium and training center. The food was very famous. Then it developed and spread to a number of places. This food that was characteristic in the past was its coin-shaped shape and doused with peanut sauce.

This food is very pioneering, a light and distinctive snack. In the past, cireng was sold in large sizes for IDR 1,000. With this innovation, it is sold starting from IDR 5,000. I bought this plastic bag for IDR 10,000. It was enough to fill me up while waiting for the travel.

I bought this food right in front of the travel to Jakarta. If asked, I prefer cireng, every time I buy fried food, I always buy cireng. This food is also my father's favorite food. But, even though I am Sundanese, I can't make this food.

I love this kind of street food too! The Philippine version is the one that we call 'fishball'. It is paired with hot chili sauce mixed with a little vinegar. But I think your cireng is a bit bigger than our fish ball. It is sold for 1Php per piece only.

Wow! that food looks yummy. I also eat those foods that I enjoyed in my childhood.Every time I saw a vedors selling those childhood foods I ate before I bought and enjoyed eating.

Thanks for posting in the ASEAN Hive Community.
