It's always a joy to discover a new restaurant with good tasting foods! I've been seeing ads of Angkong Noodle House since last month and I used to pass by a branch in a nearby city whenever I go to the grocery but never really had time to try it.
I was going to Uniqlo few days ago and was surprised that it also had a branch on that mall so I invited Leann as well. It's been almost a year since we last met.
The staffs seemed to be busy despite the restaurant not being full when we arrived. Nobody welcomed us and we walked inside like we were ghosts. Haha! We saw the menu books placed on the corner and took it ourselves to see what to order.
The restaurant felt warm and nice. I like those LED strips shaped into dimsums and the red Chinese lanterns on the corners.
The mixed seafood laksa I ordered arrived first. It didn't look very delicious for me but I was wrong. It's delicious and now one of my favorite noodle soups. It's also the first time that I've eaten laksa and now I understand why a lot of people like it!
My only complaint is that the seafood serving is too few. There's only two shrimps, one squid ring, one bok choy leaf, one crab stick sliced in half, and some seafood balls. I wish there were more shrimps. Good thing the soup really tastes good!
Meanwhile, Leann ordered this noodle soup. I forgot its name but it has beef wontons. It looks delicious! Reminds me of Chowking's beef wonton mami.
Then we had sharksfin after finishing our bowls. It's gooood! 10/10!!!
It comes with this soy based dip and some chili oil. Yum!!!
We also tried hakaw. It's softer than the sharksfin and stuffed with bits of shrimps. It's delicious and I love it too!
After eating, one staff came and gave us a free taste of their buchi (sesame ball). But instead of sesame coating the ball, they used desiccated coconut. It's also delicious.
Total cost of our foods is less than a thousand peso. Php 975, if I'm not mistaken. I think it's cheaper compared to other Chinese restaurants.
All the foods we've tried were good and I can't wait to try the others on the menu!
