Hungry, Habibi? (Indian Foods for My Birthday)

Spicy day, everyone! My post today is going to be packed with flavors as I take you to an Indian restaurant my friends and I went to, to celebrate my birthday.

Hungry Habibi opens at 9 in the morning and I guess I was the first customer. The staffs were still having a meeting about their sales when I entered. I was also the first to arrive among my friends since I went early morning at the beach.

My friends aren't coming sooner so I thought of ordering a snack first. I was really looking forward to eat hummus, but unfortunately, it wasn't available. I ordered this Aloo fingers instead, since I've read online that it's made of potato and coated with some spices.

Honestly, I was surprised that the serving was plenty. For 100 Pesos, I think this is worth it.

The taste was a bit spicy but delicious when dipped in some ketchup.

There's this two shawarma sauce placed on my table as well—

—so I tried it on the fries if it would taste good. I'd say the aloo fingers tastes better with ketchup. Lol.

The restaurant looks small with only few tables upon entering but they have an extended room as you can see the door below the airconditioning unit.

An hour later, my friend informed me that they were already on the way, so I began ordering some of the foods to lessen our waiting time.

My friends arrived and I was surprised that they brought a bouquet and a small cake for me. I don't really know how to hold a bouquet of flowers. Lol. Anyways, I'm happy and thankful for the surprise!

These are the foods we bought. I don't know exactly all of its names. I remember I ordered beef shawarma with cheese and two samosa masala for my friend while I ordered half chicken kebab for myself. My other friend ordered that small bowl with meat and vegetables alongside with a bread. I don't know what it's called. One of them also ordered chai. She said it's her favorite drink on this restaurant.

All the foods were good but some were too spicy for me. The chicken kebab is also good but didn't like the fresh onions so much.

They serve the foods quickly and the vibe of the restaurant was also good. There were also some Indians who arrived while we were eating so I guess this restaurant serves authentic Indian foods.

Ah, so busy to take photos for social media. Lol!

After eating our lunch at Hungry Habibi, we went to our friend's home to visit her and her kids. It was a fun day with lots of catching up, relationship gossips, and looking after our friend's kids.

Is Hungry Habibi worth a second try? I think, yes. I love the aloo fingers and I am yet to try their shawarma. Prices are also cheaper compared to the similar restaurant on the same area. I'm just sad they didn't have hummus when we dined.
