I checked on the ingredients of caldo de res. You're right, it's similar with the bulalo except that caldo de res have more ingredients. Yes, the bulalo has banana in it. My mama never misses to include it but I don't like it much because the sweet taste of banana combined with the beef stock tastes weird for me. Lol. I'm like your sister, sometimes the food tastes different when I try to make a bigger or small batch. Haha
