Beautiful Sunday, everyone! Guess I've been missing for a month here on Hive. What's new? I'm glad seeing Hive going up again even just a bit though I wish it could've stayed a bit lower for a little longer to have more time acquiring more Hive. :)
I'm also done with my chores which I have procrastinated for a week! It never felt so good to finally tick those boxes! Tired body but having a clean and organized space brought me comfort physically and mentally.
Lots of things happened off my digital space and I am more than ready to share them all here because I am back with a vengeance!

Six Sundays ago, I went to a mall to buy some ingredients I needed for the foods I will be making for my mama's birthday. It was after lunch when I arrived at the mall, and as expected, there was quite a huge crowd inside. It was tolerable as compared to a weekday lunch time where the mall is crowded by students.
I first looked around to find the Red Ribbon bakeshop where I would be purchasing mama's cake but this bakeshop doesn't have a branch at that mall, surprisingly. I then walked inside the grocery and hurried to get all the stuff I needed because aside from the long lines at the cashier lane, I was also worried that it might suddenly rain. I didn't bring an umbrella so I was praying so eagerly for the skies to hold its tears.
Picking up a basket, I headed right away to the meat section to purchase ground pork. There were lots of staff at the meat section but it took a while before someone assisted me. Can you guess what food I am using this for?
Since I was already near the fruits section I also searched for the other ingredients I needed, calamansi (lime) and mango. I was able to get calamansi but I could hardly find a mango. I guess I walked around the fruits section four times but still failed to find one. I thought I could get all the stuff I need at one place. Thinking of dropping by the wet market already eats up a huge chunk of my energy.
To calm myself, I decided to proceed with the other stuff on my list. I don't have any specific drinks on my mind and just tried to see what is available on their shelves. I was intrigued by this new flavor of a popular tea drink. I was supposed to get the peach flavor but then two raspberry-flavored drink suddenly caught my attention like it was screaming at me to get them. It was the last two piece of the raspberry flavor and I thought it was meant for me and my brother. Lol!
I went back at the fruits section and searched once again for the mango. You know, good things happen when you don't give up. Finally, I found the mangoes! They were displayed at the corner and blended perfectly with the other fruits, the reason why I didn't notice it no matter how many times I circled the area.
Whew! Now that I got all the stuff, I immediately lined up at the cashier lane. I was relieved that I won't be dropping by the wet market anymore.
Of course, I didn't forget to purchase a cake before going home. Aside from the cake, I also bought some ensaymada and a chicken empanada which I told the cashier that I'll just microwave it at home. The cashier instructed me to warm it up for 5 minutes to which I followed.
When I got home, I immediately placed the chicken empanada in the microwave and set the timer to 5 minutes as the cashier told me. I then proceeded with organizing the stuff I bought from the grocery and storing the cake in the fridge while the empanada was being warmed up in the microwave.
However, just about three minutes later, I saw smoke coming of the microwave which prompted me to turn of the microwave and open it. Smoke came out and the smell of burnt bread was evident. I immediately took the empanada out and placed it on a plate.
As you can see, oil has already been sipped by the paper bag and the burnt color of the bread. I was praying the burnt area was only at the paper bag and not on the food itself.
So I carefully peeked into the bag...
It looked burnt but somehow it looked alright?
But hell, the empanada was as hard as rock when I took it out of the bag! As you can see, one side was burnt so bad.
I took a little bite.. and voila!
Hahaha! The inside of the empanada was burnt to death and the ingredients were unrecognizable. My craving for empanada and to finally eat one just flew out of the window. 50+ Pesos gone! Now I have a charred empanada.
I just ate one of the ensaymadas I bought while I consoled myself. Maybe I should've just warmed the empanada for 30 seconds to a minute.
Well, that's life! We have to experience failure to know how to do it right next time!
Happy weekend, everyone! :)
