Today was one of those days that started with high hopes and ended with me craving comfort food. I was set on finally securing my student permit from the LTO. I had completed the Theoretical Driving Course (TDC) and earned my certificate, thinking everything was good to go.
But nope — surprise, surprise.
When I got to the LTO, the Customer Service Representative told me that I couldn’t proceed with the student permit application just yet. Why? Because I had a previous student permit issued way back in 2018, and since I no longer had the physical copy of that old ID, I needed to secure an Affidavit of Loss first.
Honestly, I didn’t even expect that old permit would still be on record. I thought the process would be simple—show them my TDC certificate, fill out a form, pay the fee, and boom: student permit issued. But no. Government transactions always have that one missing requirement that sends you on another errand.
So, I left the LTO and made my way to get the affidavit sorted. The day was hot, the lines were long, and by the time I had everything ready, I was drained.
Before heading home, I decided I deserved a treat—pizza, chicken, rice, and a generous serving of gravy. That was my power combo to reward myself for surviving yet another LTO adventure.
Lesson learned: always check if you had an old permit, and never lose your documents if you can help it. But hey, at least I’m one step closer to finally getting my student license. Slowly but surely.
