Sometimes the best dates are the simplest ones. Today, I took a little time off to have a chill moment with my son. I had my favorite caramel macchiato while he enjoyed his chocolate drink. To complete our treat, we shared a warm Belgian waffle drizzled with maple syrup, sweet, simple, and perfect for the mood.
As we sat together, I did what I always do, ask him about school. “How’s school today? What happened? Did you finish your packed lunch?” I love these conversations. They may sound simple, but they’re my way of checking in, making sure he feels heard, and letting him know I’m always here to listen.
Between sips and bites, he shared little stories about his day, and I couldn’t help but feel grateful. These small bonding moments remind me that time flies so fast, and every little chat, every laugh, and every shared snack becomes a memory worth holding on to.
It wasn’t a grand day out, but it was exactly what my heart needed, quality time with my son, just us, enjoying the simple joys of life. ❤️
