Fixing our Broken Hose; Huge Water Bill is Waving

in ASEAN HIVE COMMUNITY5 hours ago

How much dou you usually pay to your water bill every month? Ours ranges from 4 to 5 USD every month and I make sure there are no leaks. I have been to that situation that where our waterbill bloated to 21 USD because of the leak I ignored and it was a hassle for me and my family.

To make sure it won't happen again, I installed a control valve and we would shut it down every night before we sleep and open it every morning so we could use it in our daily lives.

Anyway, despite the effort of making sure are no leaks in our water hose, two nights ago while I was on duty, I woke up to my wife's call at 4 am asking me to come home and turn off our water in the main control because it bursted with the pressure.

I came home immediately and my wife accompanied me to the water meter to turn it off and finally, she knew which meter was ours after a few years of having water connection

Later that day, I fixed our hose and I was confident that it would never happen again but it did. i turned off our control valve before foing to bed that night and was deep asleep. The next morning, my wife woke me up telling me to turn the main valve again because the water had been coming out of the hose from who knows when.

that's when I thought a huge water bill amount is waving for the next billing and it's not even worth it.

Im very thankful to my mother in law was very kind to let us use her water when our was our of order. Anyway, we used to cook food in their kitchen especially when it was only the kids were around to be safe from fire.

So today, decided to fix our hose one more time, and to prevent the leak from happening again, I replaced it with a longer hose where I could bury the part that crosses our pathway and prevent the hose from the pressure of the passerbys and my motorcycle and I hope it won't happen again.

This will be all for now, thank you so much for your time and support!

It is a good thing you are skilled in fixing things otherwise you would have to hire someone to fix it and paying a large amount of fee. I think for those kind of problems you should alert the water company and have their people look at it. It happened to us too there was a leak because of the vehicles that would accidentaly lean over the pipe. Luckily it was a line before the meter or valve that is why the leak did not affect our bill. Still the leak is starting to get bothersome to clean and makes our pavement muddy. I am glad you were able to fix your problem.

Good job , and that is the best way taking care and repairing of hose you can save money and contribute to more efficient water use.
