A Time to Recycling Paper

in ASEAN HIVE COMMUNITYyesterday (edited)

Hello ASEAN Buddies...

Some time ago, I saw a video of an influencer recycling paper. Since then, videos about paper recycling have been popping up on my timeline, piquing my interest. To be honest, I only recently learned that paper can be recycled by pulping it. These videos piqued my interest, and I watched them reverently, step by step, stitching the paper into a notebook. It all looked so beautiful that I was drawn to recycling paper too.

I then searched for paper recycling tools and found them on e-commerce. I immediately purchased them, and they turned out to be very unique and not very elaborate. Just two frames, a sponge, and drying paper. This package cost me about $3 USD.

These two frames serve to unite the pulp and ensure it's the same thickness. Then, to dry the water, you'll need to sponge it dry. Once the pulp is combined, you'll need to glue it to the draping cloth. The cloth can adhere to recycled paper, so you don't have to worry about the paper falling off.

I then tried it with waste paper from Family Mart receipts, then other wrapping paper. First, I blended it—it wasn't smooth because my blender wasn't a proper blender. So my pulp wasn't smooth. But I was impatient to try my hand at recycled paper, so I immediately filtered it through a sieve. After that, I drained the water and placed it on a cloth.

This is the result of recycling, the paper is still wet. I need to dry it all day. You know that I really like the color of this recycled paper. Isn't it beautiful? Indeed, waste from Family Mart is green, so it makes it green like this.

This is the result after it dried...

I'm so glad I pushed myself to do something new. I can't repeat this activity right now. I haven't collected enough paper waste yet, and I'm wondering if I should buy a blender?! I'm so afraid of being impulsive. But by recycling paper, I hope to reduce waste.

What do you think?

Thanks in advance, to read my blog and hope you like my post!
See you on the next post...

Hi, Halo, Annyeong! Welcome to my galaxy.

I have so much imagination in my head. Something that I can't achieve as a human and as a girl. So writing is very challenging. Since Junior High School, I have written whatever I want to write. Without skill, I just write what I want to read. Now I have 12th published novels and all of those are romance.
Yeah, I proudly say that I am a passionate author, traveler wannabe, and blogger.

It’s amazing that you pushed yourself to try something new that already shows so much initiative! It’s completely okay that you can’t repeat the activity yet. Collecting enough paper waste naturally takes time, and it’s great that you’re being mindful instead of rushing.

Exactly @ekaaang I totally agree that being mindful was naturally took time. Also about the thinking carefully before buying a blender. Thanks in advance to read my post.

About the blender, it’s good that you’re thinking carefully before buying anything. Maybe just wait a bit more until you’re sure you’ll use it often, or see if there are cheaper alternatives or someone who can lend you one. No need to pressure yourself. 😊

I want to do this for such a long time but I thought the tools would cost quite expensive. You really did a great job recycling the paper. The result itself has an unique texture and characteristic, but can we write on it again or do you use it for another type of craft?

I also think like what you thought before. Go check your e-commerce and found the affordable stools. Trust me, that's worth to buy..

I haven't tried this one before but I remember when my brother (when he was still studying) have a project like this about recycling paper and the result was really amazing just like this. !wine

Hi @vinzie1 I think the beautiful result depended on your brother hard work. When I decided to try recycle, I also felt that I am a student with project :D
