Feel Homey in Bebek Perdikan

Hello good people on hive...

I learned about this place from a friend who had, of course, been here before. I was drawn to the restaurant's homey feel. The menu is also very traditional, something we're starting to see less often. Unfortunately, it was raining, making the afternoon even darker.

Bebek Perdikan is located in South Jakarta, and its architecture is reminiscent of a traditional Javanese house. Unlike other restaurants, which are all housed in one building, Bebek Perdikan offers an open space for customers, while the kitchen is located inside. It's truly unique.

Besides its homey architecture, reminiscent of a traditional Javanese house, Bebek Perdikan restaurant also boasts an abundance of plants and trees. This keeps the air fresh—if only there weren't any smokers around, which would spoil the atmosphere. I really like the large seating area. It looks old, but that's where its aesthetic value lies.

And this is my order. Together with my friend, I ordered Bebek Goreng Perdikan—the restaurant's main menu, snacks like chocolate-and-peanut banana, Perdikan duck satay, corn fritters, and hot sweet tea and ginger tea. It's quite a large menu, but if you have time to chat, all the food and snacks will make you forget how much you've eaten.

I absolutely love the concept of this restaurant. While many restaurants nowadays are opting for modern concepts, this restaurant has chosen a traditional concept as a way to preserve one of Indonesia's indigenous cultures. So, for anyone looking for a village or grandma's home experience, Bebek Perdikan Restaurant is the place to be.
