Lontong Sayur in Changi Airport

in ASEAN HIVE COMMUNITY5 days ago (edited)

Hi everyone. Hope you all are well as always.

I already said that Changi Airport has everything, including food. There are too many recommended foods on social media, one of which is the food in this staff canteen. When I first came here, I didn't look for this staff canteen. This canteen is actually an ordinary canteen, but it became very viral because many content creators promoted this canteen because it is known to have affordable prices. And after two visits, I just decided to visit and taste the food, namely lontong sayur.

This staff canteen is located in the corner of Terminal 1. This canteen only needs to go down 1 floor from the arrival terminal. Then you will find many food tenants like this. There are so many menu choices, from halal to non-halal. Because I was worried about non-halal, I chose a seller from Malaysia. He sells many variants of nasi lemak. But I chose this lontong sayur.

This Lontong Sayur has a different filling from the lontong sayur in Indonesia. Instead of using bean sprouts, Lontong Sayur at Staff Kantin contains cabbage, fried tofu, boiled eggs and curry sauce. If we talk about taste, this Lontong Sayur is still lacking spices.

But it wasn’t what I expected. The price was still quite expensive—but considering this was at the airport and this was Singapore, it made sense that people said that one portion of the menu at this canteen was more affordable. I paid around 3.5 Singapore dollars.

How about you? Have you ever have same experiences? How does it taste?

Thanks in advance, to read my blog and hope you like my post!

Hi, Halo, Annyeong, welcome to my galaxy.

I have so much imagination in my head. Something that I can't achieve as a human and as a girl. So writing is very challenging. Since Junior High School, I have written whatever I want to write. Without skill, I just write what I want to read. Now I have 12th published novels and all of those are romance.
Yeah, I proudly say that I am a passionate author, traveler wannabe, and blogger.

Thanks for sharing your experience! It's really interesting to hear about the staff canteen at Changi-I've seen it pop up a lot on social media too, so it's nice to get real opinion. I agree, airport food is usually pricey, so 3.5 SGD does sound relatively affordable, especially in Singapore. The lontong soyur you tried sounds quite different from the traditional version, and I can imagine how the milder flavor might be a bit underwhelming. Still, It's great that there are so many options and that could find a halal choice you felt comfortable with. Definitely helpful for anyone flying through Terminal 1! Take care @viviehardika

hi @itsmelyn it's honor can sharing something here.

This food is quite different from my country version. Because my country and Singapore are in the same family, it is not surprising that they have similar types of food to those in my country. thanks for stopped by..

Unfortunately, this staff canteen thing doesn't open later. Otherwise, I'll go more often.

Right @ace108 , they're not open later, so we have to wait longer. It should open 24/7 right. Otherwise, as you said, maybe we could go there more often, or when we get hungry while waiting for your midnight flight.

What have you tried there? I'm curious...
