Hello ASEAN Buddies...
This is my first time learning about these mooncakes. I call them mooncakes because they're round and have a moon as their logo. Since I honestly can't read Mandarin, Yunie gave them to me on the last day of Hive Fest 10 Kuala Lumpur. How lucky I am…
So let me review this beautiful cake.
Judging from the packaging, it looked very luxurious. I'm sure it was very expensive. But what was more precious was the person who gave it and the moment when she gave it. It was our last day in Kuala Lumpur after a few days of traveling around KL together. It turned out that Yunie was a fan of Taiwanese dramas, which I used to enjoy, so we quickly connected through conversation.
And let me open the box...
In one box, you'll find 8 packages of rose fruit cake. It looks like plastic, but the wrapping isn't 100% plastic. It's very unique. I love the color combination of the wrapping. And let's see what these mooncakes are like.

This is why I call it a mooncake. If you tear open the wrapper and hold the cake as I show below, it looks like the moon covered by clouds, right? Hahaha, or is my imagination running wild? Once you bite into it, you'll make it look like the moon too.

This mooncake is filled with pineapple jam—I guess… It's like the pineapple tarts (nastar) that are always a typical Eid al-Fitr treat. Both pineapple tarts and mooncakes are delicious. I'm so lucky to have had this experience, tasting a mooncake bought especially for me. Oh yeah, I shared it with my roommate, of course.
