Hello good people on hive...

This is the first time I've heard of this Japanese restaurant. I don't know how many Japanese restaurants there are in Indonesia, as they're usually not evenly distributed—I mean, not in every mall. This time, I stopped at a mall in southern Tangerang, and my friend recommended this place. She'd been there before, so I just went with her.
Apparently, Zenbu is a casual Japanese restaurant that has been in the Indonesian F&B scene for two decades. When I looked at the menu, they had more options than any other Japanese restaurant I'd ever been to. It was so extensive that it took me an hour to decide what I wanted for lunch.

Zenbu is a unique restaurant, with its communal kitchen in the center, with tables surrounding it. I initially thought Zenbu would be a small establishment, but it turns out it's a circular seating area for customers to move around. So, this restaurant is circular, with the communal kitchen in the center. Very unique…

This layout is certainly different from other Japanese restaurants, and it's certainly very comfortable. The furniture combines rattan chairs with sofas. The decor is also unique, reminiscent of manga.
So, here's my order after an hour of choosing…
Yasai Yakimeshi & Mallaca Coffee

I was actually quite full at the time, but I didn't want to skip lunch for fear of getting hungry at an inopportune time. So I ordered both of these dishes. I could eat them slowly. I also thought that the portions at this Japanese restaurant would probably not be as large as Nasi Briyani, so I figured I'd finish them quickly and leave nothing behind.
Yasai Yakimeshi

But it turned out, the portions were truly enormous even though I had ordered the regular meal. Another thing I didn't expect was that the filling of this fried rice was different from the one pictured on the menu—how foolish of me to believe that. It was fried rice with mushrooms, peas, sliced pickled ginger, and carrots. It wasn't as impressive as I'd hoped. I didn't notice any bold flavors. It would have been better if they'd also added chicken pieces.

The Malacca Coffee

Malacca, just reading the name reminds me of my recent trip to Malaysia. Even when I was there, I didn't see any coffee called Malacca Coffee, so I was intrigued to order it here. Isn't it strange to find a menu item synonymous with the Malay ethnic group in a Japanese restaurant? But never mind... This coffee is definitely worth buying.

This Malacca Coffee contains espresso, creamer, condensed milk, and palm sugar. You can see the palm sugar build up at the bottom of the cup. The color combination is beautiful, and look how they made a cloth coaster. I wonder if they're trying to be zero-waste? That's a great improvement.

Anyway... Hasta La Vista...
Thanks in advance, to read my blog and hope you like my post!
See you on the next post...
