Greetings to my friends in the beautiful Black And White community, I hope you have a wonderful day!
Today I am going to share with you a series of portrait photographs that I took of a friend's son in my photography studio while I was testing the lighting scheme that I would use for a photo shoot.
The truth is that children are super curious and when he saw me setting up the studio he asked me many questions lol what was that for and what was that for... I explained everything to him with great love and patience while I was setting up the studio...
I think that in the end when he saw the studio set up and ready he understood everything because the first thing he said to me was now take some pictures of me lol and since I needed to set up the lighting scheme I put the child on the set and started testing the lighting schemes with him as a model.
So you will notice how the lighting varies in all the photos!
I will use these photos as an entry for the #monomad challenge.
The first photo has a fairly flat and almost non-existent artificial light since I started with the flash at low power:
In the following two photos I raised the power of the flash and I liked the result:
Since I liked that result, the next thing I did was raise the power of the flash by 1+ and lower the ISO of the camera to get a better quality photo and see how the image would look... BUT the result was a very strong light with very marked shadows... I didn't like this result so much.
The next thing I did was to put the flash back to the previous power that I had liked and turn on the secondary light, behind the subject, in that way to separate it from the background and also illuminate the background a little so that it did not look so gray.
At this point I liked the result but I still felt the shadows very strong and as that was not the result I was looking for I decided to change the lighting scheme... in this case I decided to point the flash at a white wall and use it as a bounce to have a much softer and diffused light with less marked shadows.
I liked that result and decided that one would be the lighting scheme that I would use for the photo shoot, at that moment his cousin came in and told me to take a picture of them together so I did:
I hope you liked the photos as much as I did!
Thank you for watching!
