If you want to know if it is God speaking to you about a matter or your mind is just playing tricks on you, then here are the things you need to know.
When God is speaking to you, the voice of God comes suddenly. If it is your mind speaking to you, your mind calculates.
So, if you are praying, you are not even thinking about somebody, you were just focused on the prayers and all of a sudden the image of somebody just comes to your mind suddenly. What happen is that God is speaking to you, either you check on that person or pray for the person. And when you ignore that sudden nudging, the person will either call you by himself to say "I was just thinking about you". And you will be like "I just thought about you when I was praying"
If this has been happening to you, then this had been God speaking to you.

You were not thinking in that direction, it just came, just know that this is God speaking to you. Even if you are doubting, there will be this conviction in your heart to do this thing.
Pay attention to those sudden nudging and voices, image, videos and flashes that you receive whenever you are in prayers. As as you pay clear attention to this signs from God, your life will never remain thesame.
