You are not less of a Christian if you don't know the answer to every question asked about your faith.
You are not less of a Christian if you grew up in church but never remember the Bible stories you are supposed to know
You are not less of a Christian if you struggle to trust God at times and you need him to remind you that he is real.
Romans 10:9-10
- That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 . ****For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation**

All God requires for us to be saved is faith, the wisdom and knowledge part comes later. That is why we don't have to get ourselves together before salvation, God will take us through a lifelong process of sanctification, which will develop our spiritual maturity should you allow him and seek it.
Overtime your confidence in God will grow, your knowledge of why you do believe what you believe will increase and your faith will deepen. You don't need to feel shame for not knowing, but that I shouldn't feel comfortable staying in ignorance.
Knowing God really matters, because if we do not know God, we cannot glorify him. If you crave spiritual maturity and want to go deeper in your understanding of God, you have to study the word of God which is the Bible always.
I encourage you to not only grow only in your knowledge about God, but your knowledge of him. He is absolutely worth knowing.
