God Speaks Through Our Thoughts

in The Kingdom2 months ago

How do you know when is God talking to you and not your own thoughts?

God does use your thoughts to speak to you. In fact, it's one of the most common ways, we just give ourselves too much credit.

The Bible tells us that all good and perfect things come from God, meaning any good thought or any good idea that you've ever had that reflects the fruit of God's spirit, meaning his love, his joy, his peace, his kindness, his gentleness, his self-control, that was inspired by God.

The Bible also tells us that our nature is sinful. As human beings, we always are going to desire the things that do not please God first. When we become a new creation and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, he begins to change us from the inside out, and our desires begin to become his desires for us. But it does not originate from us. It originates from him being in us.

The enemy tries to send thoughts to our mind, and God tries to send thoughts to our mind, and we have our own thoughts.

The Bible says that we are tempted by our own lusts and our own desires, so any evil thing that you want is because you will be not because God tempted you with it.

So the next time a thought comes to your mind, I want you to ask yourself, what is that thought inspired by? Does it reflect what his word says? And does it reflect his character and his fruit of his spirit?

And anything outside of that is not of him. So not only will you be able to understand God's voice speaking to you, but you'll also know what the enemy is trying to speak as well.
