You think to yourself, there are things that I'm desiring of God. There are things that I want from God. But you have to ask yourself, how bad do you want to elevate in God?
How bad do you want a personal relationship with God?
For the Lord to bless you, for the Lord to increase you and elevate you, you have to ask yourself, how bad do you want the things of God?
Because one of the things of God, it comes with sacrificing. It comes with being in the presence of God and knowing God personally. When you look at Jacob in the Bible, he wrestled with the angel because there were things that he needed from the Lord.
And he told the angel of the Lord, he said, I will not let you go until you bless me. He wrestled with this angel day and night. And because he did this, because he had the mindset that I will not let go until God bless me. Enough.God blessed him. God opened up doors for him. And God not only blessed him, but God changed his name.
You have to ask yourself, how bad do you want the spiritual things of God?
We can say all day that we want God to elevate us, that we want a personal relationship with God, that we want God to take us higher.
But you have to sacrifice to get there. I don't think that people understand the sacrifice that the Lord made. I don't think people understand the cross that he had to bear.
I don't think that people truly understand that when the Lord knew that his time was drawing nigh, he prayed to his father saying, let this cup pass over me. Because he knew the sacrifice. He knew what he was about to go through.
But he told his father, he said, nevertheless, let your will be done. I don't think that people truly understand that he was beaten, that he was bruised, that he was nailed to a cross for hours.
When at any point, he's the son of God. He could have come down from that cross, but he thought of you and I, that he stayed and sacrificed himself.
If you truly understood,
if you truly love the Lord,
you will not reject him.
You will not sin against him.
