Wedding traditions and rituals, Ribnovo docuseries

Many photographers, locals and non-locals, dream and plan to attend to a wedding in Ribnovo, Bulgaria.

There is a reason to that even to those that are not documentary photographers as there is always something unique in each wedding ceremony...

Thank you and a lovely day to you too!😊🙏🏼

What an extremely unusual make-up the bride has, and her clothes and headdress in general. An interesting and unique tradition. I doubt she feels particularly comfortable in the presence of so many people, and I suppose she doesn't know all of them?

Yes, the weeding traditions in this village are quite specific, in the past there were photographers who were bribing locals for info and invitations to these rare events. Nowadays, it seems a bit more commercial, still q unique experience, of course.
I suppose you're right, she isn't comfortable at all and also a part of the ritual is a long procession on the streets that I will cover with photos in my future posts.
I think we were about twenty people in that room, she knew only the women who were doing the artwork on her.

Thank you!

What an unusual story. I think in such rituals it is good to be the only invited guest among the locals, and not the other way around. It will be sad if this soon becomes a completely commercial spectacle. In any case, I am happy for you that you were able to attend such a unique event :)
