Le nominations del precedente contest erano i post degli autori: @bencwarmer, @mad-runner, @arc7icwolf e @p1k4ppa10
Nel sondaggio del precedente contest ci sono stati 6 voti e vi ricordo che votare nel sondaggio ha 0 costi perchè il voto di preferenza non è un upvote.
Grazie ai 6 voti è stata superata la soglia minima (5 voti) per poter scegliere un vincitore.
Sono già diversi contest consecutivi in cui due posts ottengono lo stesso numero di preferenze e anche nel precedente contest, per la quinta volta consecutiva i vincitori sono due perchè il post di @bencwarmer e il post di @arc7icwolf ottengono lo stesso numero di preferenze: il 33% dei voti del sondaggio.

Come funziona l'iniziativa Migliore Autore della settimana su Olio di Balena?
Ogni venerdì di ogni settimana pubblicherò un post in cui annuncerò il vincitore del contest precedente e selezionerò 4 posts pubblicati all'interno della comunità Olio di Balena di 4 autori diversi.
Selezionerò solo i posts che non sono ancora in payout nel momento in cui l'annuncio settimanale viene pubblicato.
Il mio ruolo è e sarà solo di selezionatore dei post perchè saranno sempre i membri della comunità di Olio di Balena a scegliere il Miglior Autore della settimana tramite un sondaggio votabile in un thread su Inleo.
I membri di Olio di Balena potranno votare il loro autore preferito da VENERDI fino alla chiusura del sondaggio che avverrà ogni LUNEDI alle ore: 10:00 UTC - 6:00 AM EST - 11:00 UTC+1 (ora italiana)
Nota che il voto di preferenza nel sondaggio su Inleo non è un upvote e non ti costa nulla.

I criteri di selezione dei post
Le regole di base da seguire per la scrittura dei post sono le stesse regole indicate da @fedesox che è il creatore della comunità di Olio di Balena:
- scrittura italiana ben accetta
- contenuti originali
- rispetto e correttezza
A queste regole di base ho aggiunto dei criteri di selezione.
Nella scelta dei posts migliori considererò più elementi tra cui:
Criterio di selezione 1: la qualità del post.
- Minimo 500 parole.
Non considererò i post con meno di 500 parole.
Nota importante: Per i post in doppia lingua, sarà considerata solo una lingua per il conteggio delle parole. - Citazione delle fonti.
Se usi immagini non tue devi sempre indicare la fonte da cui hai preso le immagini (link delle immagini).
Ovviamente le immagini (non tue) devono essere libere da copyright e utilizzabili per fini commerciali.
Se trovo immagini con copyright e non posso verificare facilmente la licenza di utilizzo dell'autore del post (non c'è un link) non considererò il post per questo contest.
Se le foto/immagini nel tuo post sono tue ti consiglio comunque di inserire in qualsiasi parte del tuo post l'indicazione che sono immagini/foto di tua proprietà perchè faciliti il curatore e soprattutto rispetti il lettore che potrebbe chiedersi la provenienza delle immagini.
Criterio di selezione 2: il livello di interazione nella comunità di Olio di Balena
- chi ha scritto 0 commenti durante la settimana non sarà considerato anche se ha scritto un post di qualità meritevole del premio Pulitzer.
- è necessario aver commentato almeno una volta un post di un altro autore pubblicato all'interno della comunità di Olio di Balena in un arco temporale di una settimana.
- se due post avranno pari o simile qualità sarà il livello di interazione l'ago della bilancia.
Criterio di selezione 3: un punteggio maggiore per l'uso della lingua italiana
L'iniziativa Miglior autore della settimana è aperta a tutti (italiani e non italiani) ma l'uso della lingua italiana permette di avere più chanches di essere selezionato tra le 4 nominations
Il motivo di questa scelta è legato ad uno degli obiettivi di Olio di Balena: cercare di aumentare i contenuti in lingua italiana su Hive.
Se non sei italiano e sei un membro di Olio di Balena sei sempre il benvenuto su Olio di Balena ma se vuoi avere maggiori chanches per essere selezionato come autore della settimana ti consiglio di aggiungere anche la versione/traduzione italiana al tuo post ;)
Criterio di selezione 4: un punteggio maggiore per chi ha preso parte alla votazione nel sondaggio precedente
Criterio di rotazione:
Per dare la possibilità a più autori di vincere questo contest il vincitore di ogni contest sarà escluso dalle nominations solo per il contest successivo.
Nota Importante: Se il sondaggio riceve meno di 5 preferenze non ci sarà nessun vincitore!
I premi per il Migliore autore della settimana
Ogni settimana il vincitore di questa iniziativa, il migliore autore della settimana, riceverà due premi:
- il 60% delle ricompense del post settimanale
- sarà inserito nella curation list di @leo.voter a partire da quando @weeklytops annuncerà i vincitori fino al venerdì.
Nota importante: il voto di cura non è garantito e leo.voter curerà solo i posts pubblicati dall'editor di Inleo.
Ogni settimana i beneficiari del post "Migliore autore della settimana" saranno sempre:
- 60% Migliore autore della settimana
- 20% @weeklytops
- 9%-15% @libertycrypto27 (selezionatore delle nominations)
- 5% @balaenoptera
- 0%-6% diviso tra gli autori non vincitori ma solo se avranno partecipato al sondaggio

In un intervallo di tempo di 7 giorni sono stati pubblicati più di 80 post all'interno della comunità di Olio di Balena e questo è un buon segnale di crescita perchè il numero dei post pubblicati in una finestra temporale di 7 giorni è in costante aumento.
Per selezionare le quattro nominations apro in ordine cronologico tutti i post pubblicati in un intervallo di tempo di 7 giorni e come prima selezione non considero tutti i post che hanno meno di 500 parole (per i post in unica lingua) e non considero tutti i post che hanno meno di 1000 parole per i post in doppia lingua.
Ho letto tanti post interessanti e belli ma una piccola parte dei post pubblicati su Odb aveva più di 500 parole scritte in un'unica lingua.
Ho trovato anche qualche utente nuovo su Olio di Balena ma con 0 interazione e per questo non li ho considerati come possibili nominations.
Questa settimana dovevo scegliere tra i post di 7 autori che hanno soddisfatto tutti i criteri di selezione ma con solo 4 nominations disponibili ho scelto di selezionare:
- chi ha interagito di più
- chi ha votato più volte nei sondaggi precedenti
- chi ha scelto di destinare una parte delle ricompense dei propri post a @balaenoptera che utilizzerà il 100% delle sue rewards e delle contribuzioni ricevute per organizzare futuri contest
Ci tenevo a spiegare il modo in cui ho scelto le nominations anche perchè può essere utile a chi vuole partecipare a questo contest e anche perchè volevo sottolineare il fatto che per essere scelti tra le nominations non è importante solo il contenuto di un post ma anche il supporto e la presenza attiva all'interno della comunità di Olio di Balena.
Con molta probabilità considererò sempre più come un elemento importante per la selezione la votazione nel sondaggio e sto pensando di inserire la votazione in almeno uno dei tre precedenti sondaggi come prossimo criterio necessario di selezione e quindi se vuoi aumentare le probabilità che il tuo post sia selezionato in futuro ricordati di votare nel sondaggio ;)

Today starts the weekly "Best Author of the Week" contest number 16 in the Olio di Balena community!

The nominations of the previous contest were the posts of the authors: @bencwarmer, @mad-runner, @arc7icwolf and @p1k4ppa10
In the poll of the previous contest there were 6 votes and I remind you that voting in the poll has 0 cost because the preference vote is not an upvote.
Thanks to the 6 votes, the minimum threshold (5 votes) was exceeded to be able to choose a winner.
It is already several consecutive contests in which two posts get the same number of preferences and even in the previous contest, for the fifth consecutive time the winners are two because @bencwarmer's post and @arc7icwolf's post receive the same number of preferences: 33% of the poll votes.
Winners @bencwarmer and @arc7icwolf will be the largest beneficiaries of the rewards in this post and will receive the reward in Hive Power in 7 days when this post goes into payout.

How does the Top Author of the Week initiative work on Olio di Balena?
Every Friday of each week I will publish a post in which I will announce the winner of the previous contest and select 4 posts published within the Olio di Balena community by 4 different authors.
I will only select posts that are not yet in payout at the time the weekly announcement is published.
My role is and will only be as a selector of posts because it will always be the members of the Olio di Balena community who will choose the Best Author of the week via a voting poll in a thread on Inleo.
Olio di Balena members will be able to vote for their favorite author from Friday until the poll closes, which will occur every Monday at: 10:00 UTC - 6:00 AM EST - 11:00 UTC+1 (Italian time)
Note that the preference vote in the poll on Inleo is not an upvote and costs you nothing.
To give your preference in the poll you need to mouse click on one of the 4 choices and authorize your choice with Hive Keychain.
Post selection criteria.
The basic rules to follow when writing posts are the same rules given by @fedesox who is the creator of the Olio di Balena community:
- Italian writing welcome
- original content
- respect and fairness
To these basic rules I have added selection criteria.
In selecting the best posts I will consider multiple elements including:
Selection Criterion 1: The quality of the post.
- Minimum 500 words.
I will not consider posts with less than 500 words.
Important note: For dual language posts, only one language will be considered for word count. - Citation of sources.
If you use images that are not your own, you must always indicate the source from which you took the images (image link).
Obviously the images must be copyright free and usable for commercial purposes.
If I find copyrighted images and I cannot easily verify the post author's license to use them I will not consider the post for this contest.
However, if the photos/images in your post are yours, I recommend that you include anywhere in your post that they are your own images/photos because you make it easier for the curator and most importantly respect the reader who may wonder where the images came from.
Selection Criterion 2: the level of interaction in the Olio di Balena community.
- those who wrote 0 comments during the week will not be considered even if they wrote a Pulitzer Prize-worthy quality post.
- you must have commented at least once on a post by another author published within the Olio di Balena community within a one-week time frame.
- if two posts have equal or similar quality it will be the level of interaction that will be the deciding factor for selection.
Selection criterion 3: a greater score for the use of the Italian language.
The Best Author of the Week initiative is open to everyone (Italian and non-Italian) but the use of the Italian language allows more chanches to be selected among the 4 nominations
The reason for this choice is related to one of the goals of Olio di Balena: to try to increase Italian language content on Hive.
If you are not Italian and you are a member of Olio di Balena you are always welcome on Olio di Balena but if you want to have more chanches to be selected as author of the week I suggest you to add also the Italian version/translation to your post ;)
Selection criterion 4: Higher probability of being chosen among the nominations for those who participated in voting in the previous poll.
Rotation Criterion:
To give more authors a chance to win this contest the winner of each contest will be excluded from the nominations only for the next contest.
New Important Rule: If the poll receives less than 5 preferences there will be no winner!
The prizes for Top Author of the Week
Each week the winner of this initiative, the best author of the week, will receive two prizes:
- 60% of the weekly post rewards.
- will be placed on @leo.voter's curation list starting when @weeklytops announces the winners until Friday.
important note: leo.voter will only curate posts published using the Inleo editor.
Each week the beneficiaries of the "Best Author of the Week" post will always be:
- 60% Author of the Week
- 20% @weeklytops

In a 7-day time interval more than 80 posts were published within the Olio di Balena community and this is a good sign of growth because the number of posts published in a 7-day time window is steadily increasing.
To select the four nominations I open in chronological order all posts published in a 7-day time window and as a first selection I do not consider all posts that have less than 500 words (for single language posts) and I do not consider all posts that have less than 1000 words for dual language posts.
I read many interesting and beautiful posts but a small fraction of the posts published on Odb had more than 500 words written in a single language.
I also found some new users on Olio di Balena but with 0 interaction and that is why I did not consider them as possible nominations.
This week I had to choose from the posts of 7 authors who met all the selection criteria but with only 4 nominations available I chose to select:
- who interacted the most
- who voted the most times in previous polls
- those who chose to allocate a portion of their post rewards to @balaenoptera who will use 100% of their rewards and contributions received to organize future contests
I wanted to explain the way I chose the nominations also because it can be useful for those who want to participate in this contest and also because I wanted to emphasize the fact that to be chosen among the nominations it is not only important the content of a post but also the support and active presence within the Olio di Balena community.
In all likelihood I will consider more and more as an important element for selection the voting in the poll and I am thinking of including the voting in at least one of the three previous polls as the next necessary criterion for selection and so if you want to increase the chances of your post being selected in the future remember to vote in the poll ;)

) senza se e senza ma. Come se la mancanza dell'inglese rendesse il post monco. Il fatto sta che è talmente sempre più vero al giorno d'oggi che senza l'inglese non si va da nessunissima parte al punto da nascere doveri civici anche dove non ve ne sarebbero (nelle comunità latine, asiatiche e africane se ne fa altrettanto dovere civico, anzi nelle asiatiche e africane l'inglese prevale sulla madrelingua di filippini, indiani, ecc.). Occhio, sono soltanto constatazioni e non critiche.
