The nicest thing you can do for a friend with a thriving business is to show up and support her. Mil announced in our group chat that she's opening or rather, reviving her food business that closed when the pandemic hit our little town in 2020. With home quarantine and all the restrictions we were all compelled to comply with, her food business didn't survive. She had a shoe business which, surprisingly, boomed during the pandemic. She focused her time and resources on it. As for the food business, rebuilding what she lost in the pandemic took a while. Even if this is just a small cafe and rent is free (the land where her cafe is erected is owned by a relative of his husband), she needed a huge sum of money to rebuild the less than 10 sq meter building, buy additional and new appliances and equipment that will support her new business and other furniture and fixture. I knew Mil is a hardworking and perhaps the most dedicated lady I know when it comes to making her passion and dreams turn into reality. So I made sure that during the grand opening of her cafe called *Uniko Hijo which means *only son, I was there to support her every step of the way.
I also asked other friends of ours to be there during the opening. It was a hot afternoon but our thirst was easily quenched with their superb drinks (the passionfruit tea was my favorite). Since it was the grand opening they had food free for all guests and customers. I enjoyed my time with my friends while supporting one another. That's what friends do, support each other. 🥰
