Today I finally tried something I really wanted to eat. For those who don't know, I'm a huge fan of Korean series and I'd like to go there as a tourist someday to see the beautiful places and try the food. Today I went into a new Asian store in the city. It should be noted that I don't live in the capital but in the second city with the most commercial activity, which means that things here arrive after months or even a year have passed in the capital.
Hoy por fin probé algo que tenía muchísimas ganas de comer, para los que no saben yo soy una fanática de las series coreanas y me gustaría ir algún día como turista a ver los lugares hermosas y probar la comida, hoy entré en una tienda asiática nueva que hay en la ciudad. Cabe destacar que yo no vivo en la capital sino en la segunda ciudad que tiene mayor movimiento del comercio, esto quiere decir que las cosas aquí llegan luego de que han pasado meses o hasta 1 año en la capital.
This is what I was able to try today, 'tteokbokki', they are said to be rice cakes, they have different flavors but they are mostly eaten spicy in K-dramas. For me it was a strange experience because when I opened it they looked like miniature candles and even the texture when you touch it raw feels like touching a candle. I took the opportunity to read the instructions and prepare it right away.
Esto es lo que hoy pude probar 'tteokbokki', se dice que son unos pasteles de arroz, tienen diferentes sabores pero mayormente los comen picantes en los K-dramas. Para mí fue una experiencia extraña porque cuando lo abrí parecían velas miniaturas y hasta la textura cuando lo tocas así crudo se siente como tocar una vela. Aproveché la oportunidad para leer las instrucciones y prepararlo de una vez.
You had to put everything in the container and add water up to the line and then put it in the microwave for 2 or 3 minutes. And the result looks like this. I want to tell you that it is quite spicy in this presentation, unfortunately I didn't have cheese to put on top like they do in K-dramas. Now the flavor really comes from the sauces because the rice cakes don't taste like anything, they are quite soft when cooked, they have the texture of a soft gummy, they are quite chewy. I'm supposed to be on a diet but I needed to try this, and I also bought a ramen LOL
Había que poner todo en el envase y agregarle agua hasta la línea y luego ponerlo en el microondas por 2 o 3 minutos. Y el resultado se ve así. Quiero decirles que es bastante picante en esta presentación, lamentablemente no tenía queso para ponerle por encima así como salen en los K-dramas. Ahora el sabor realmente viene de la salsas porque las tortas de arroz no saben a nada, son bastante blandas cuando están cocinadas, tienen la textura de una gomita blanda, son bastante masticables. Se supone que estoy a dieta pero yo necesitaba probar esto, y también me compré un ramen JAJAJA
