4 days in the hospital

in CLEAN PLANET3 months ago

Greetings!

I'm among the luckiest people on this planet who have never been admitted to the hospital since childbirth. Or perhaps I was admitted when I was very little, and I can't remember it. Either way, that's a good thing, as I haven't been admitted to the hospital in my memory.

Nevertheless, in response to this prompt, my best hospital experience was when one of my siblings was admitted to the hospital. Because I was in my hometown at that time, I was inevitably made to stay there 24/7 until he was discharged.

What made the experience the best?

There were many things that made my stay fun and enjoyable, and they are as follows:

There was constant power supply:
It was a private hospital, and although I expected electricity to be available, I didn’t think it would last very long because fuel was as expensive as ever. But to my surprise, the electricity supply was uninterrupted throughout my stay there. It only blinked briefly when they changed the power generator. Honestly, it was far better than what I usually experience at home. At home, we rely solely on public electricity, which is usually epileptic, leaving us moving around looking for where to charge our phones.

My stay in the hospital was so enjoyable because I never experienced a low battery on my phone. I’m a phone person, and I had so much fun using my phone. Thankfully, my brother’s illness was alleviated on the first day, but he was required to stay for thorough checks. So, I was just there, with no responsibilities or worries.

One of the nurses is our church member:

This was another advantage because my brother and I were treated with extra care. This particular nurse would sometimes come around with snacks for both of us. Occasionally, other patients would look at us with weird expressions. Well, I don’t blame them; if I were in their shoes, I might do the same.

The food and feeding:
In Nigeria, one of the best moments someone eats good and delicious meal is when sick. During that time, varieties of food were brought to us—both home-cooked and purchased meals. The purchased meals were even more delicious because they seemed different from what we usually ate.
The third day was the best of them all, we were served soup made with goat meat which on a normal standard, we eat that once in a while at home.
It was a sickness period to the family but to us at the hospital, it was more like a Christmas season because of the food. We don't wish for sickness to happen, but....(complete it with whatever you're thinking) 😆

Like I mentioned earlier, my brother was relieved on the first day, so we were just there eating without any worries. I ate a lot of turkey and chicken during that time.

This is my entry to CleanPlanet prompt of the week. Feel free to check out the announcement here and join.
