The Significance of Timely Weeding for Nutrients and Space

Hello, everyone!

It has been a while i have not visited farm, as I spent my holiday with my parents, helping them with farm work and other agricultural tasks. I am delighted that my mission has been accomplished and fulfilled. The accomplishment was made this evening as I arranged my luggage heading with a smile on my face to the city.

It was gratifying to heed the small voice in my heart urging me to assist my parents. Arriving home, my parents were excited to welcome me, their little farmer 😂. It was what I whetted for to do, because its being a while I have not told a hoe to weed on the farm. Farming holds a noble place in our country today, especially amidst Nigeria's current economic situation. It's essential for us to roll up our sleeves and work for our food.

Furthermore, embracing an "agricultural mindset" throughout our community could significantly alleviate food shortages, particularly in my home town, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. My time on the farm with my parents was enriching, especially during weeding sessions. As I learned in my primary school days, timely weeding is crucial for the growth of new crops. To ensure our crops yield abundantly, farmers must diligently weed unwanted plants competing for nutrients, sunlight, and water. Timely weeding allows crops to access essential resources unhindered, promoting vigorous growth of crops. My mother, siblings, and I dedicated days to weeding our big hectare of land, braving both scorching sunlight and heavy rainfall.

Despite the challenges, the work was rewarding and fulfilling. Working alongside my mother on the farm was an enjoyable experience. We weeded together, laughed together, and even enjoyed a fig fruit gifted by a newfound friend, replenishing our strength. In cultivating an agricultural mindset, we can transform our lives and families. Farming demands diligence and teamwork for optimal productivity.

Overall, working on the farm provides benefits to the farmers and it helps a lot in times like this. Food stuffs are getting hard to get. Therefore, it is high time we put more effort into farm work.

Thank you for reading through my work.

I love, I care, and I forgive.

I remain @peckypeace.
