Dreaming Of Negi Oroshi Daikon Ponzu Burger At Bikkuri Donki!

There is a chain restaurant in Japan called Bikkuri Donki, roughly translated as surprised donkey. The name harkens back to the wacky 80's Japan, fun, but delivers on the delicious menu.

When I travel in Japan and I'm seeking comfort food this is my go to restaurant. The main reason is this dish right here. It's negi ponzu oroshi daikon hamburg and it's amazing.

Basically it's simply a hamburg(beef & pork) topped with negi(leek) and shredded daikon. I add the ponzu and relax as heaven is experienced with each bite. Of course it's proper to wash it down with one of Dokni's dai joki(large size) beers.

This summer they offered a special "Moon" celebration menu. One of the items was this french fries with a raw egg, egg salad, mayonnaise sauce and takoyaki sauce.

It was ok, but I was expecting a hook, something a bit more.

Another thing I like about Donki is their decor. It's American Kitsch and it's awesome.

Hey! That's my bike!

So if you happen to be in Japan I'd recommend you look up Bikkuri Donki, order the Negi Oroshi Daikon Burger, a house ale dai joki, and enjoy your life!
