RE: We Are Doing It Wrong .:. WorkerBee PH-Pool Week 152

Even some of us get that way, but I know it's not the system itself that if failing us, the problem is that the community doesn't really pay any attention and there is a very big gap in engagement vs people posting and wanting to earn. I'll admit, I get discouraged quite a bit when seeing the same authors get higher upvotes than others who work just as hard. There is a favorites game that gets played around here. Those are the issues. It's not they system itself, it's the community.

People that only post once or twice then leave completely miss the point of building their reputation. The way Hive is marketed needs an overhaul for sure because nothing is guaranteed. Even for someone like me that has built multiple projects and has been around trying to provide value for year.

Anyway, keep up the good work and thanks for your WORKERBEE vote on my witness! It really helps keep my little projects alive!

What I realized through engaging with newbies (and some other not-that-newbies) is that everyone expects to be upvoted on their posts, but not many are really upvoting others with their stake! I see a lot of delegations going out to big whale accounts (some of them aren't even curators as they upvote according to stake), leaving the responsibility for upvoting to big whale accounts... I wouldn't say that it's a problem of those big accounts, but rather the community mindset, as you stated... If I want to go hard, it could be called hypocrisy, as people expect something, without giving anything in return...

Of course, there are a bunch of automatic votes and favoritism, but that's something that will always exist...
