I finally found some mushrooms for #fungifriday by @ewkaw

These little guys hatched out right after a rain and immediately started cracking.

I suspect this is what they always do.

But it could have been an issue where a ton of rain fell they had a chance to grow then the temperature dropped and dried them out. I'm still not sure what type they are but they grow all over the place here.

Now for an old familiar big one.

Dryad's saddles are a nice easily identifiable edible.

They are still harvestable at this state but only around the edges. If you cut too far in they will be too spongey to eat.

I left these ones here as this tree it was growing on gets fertilized with who knows what kind of chemicals. I prefer to harvest them farther out in the forest where the ticks are.

My daughter spotted this one on our evening walk.

It is a nice edible summer oyster just a bit ahead of schedule before summer actually hits. They are quite common and have a nice texture for cooking if you can find them before they get too dried out.

That's all for now, more sightings soon hopefully.

These mushrooms are so beautiful. I’ve always been a fan of the #fungifriday community by @ewkaw. Too bad that on the island of Cuba 🇨🇺, especially in my province of Ciego de Ávila, it’s super hard for me to find these beautiful little species.

I’ve always liked participating on Fridays, but on my travels and walks I don’t find many — just a few simple ones.

Very beautiful specimens in your post. Greetings and happy weekend!! @sketch.and.jam! ☺️😊🙏

If you go underwater the coral plants kind of look like strange fungi. I used to live in the desert and there were no fungi at all. I've only made it to Grand Cayman once and didn't see a single mushroom growing, too sandy and hot of an environment. Now where I live there are forests and lots of rain so plenty of strange fungi come out... Unfortunately with the added danger of ticks crawling around everywhere.

Oh my God, ticks. You know, here there are some areas I've gone to see if I find any [mushrooms], especially because of the breeding of horses and cows.

I'll tell you that the few I've been able to find are wild and common—those fungi growing on trees and some white mushrooms that grow on cow dung. I hope that now that it's spring on the island of Cuba 🇨🇺.

I'll be lucky enough to see some, but at least I enjoy the #fungifriday posts from several fellow users. Greetings and happy start to the week ☺️😊🙏

Lots of mushrooms around lately. I need to get the camera going. Those first mushrooms look like fancy baked bread haha You need to run the risk evaluation on tick bites vs chemical poisoning from yard chemicals 🤔

I think they need to airdrop guinea hens into the forests to eat all the ticks lol. Any mushrooming I would be doing in the forest now I would wrap my legs with 2 sided duct tape.
